Risk Management and Cybersecurity
Practical solutions to simplify, automate, and secure your organization

AI-Powered Cyber Security: Automated Protection, Unmatched Precision.
Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance their services.
Schedule a AI Enhanced MSSP consultationAI enhances cybersecurity capabilities with:
- Advanced Threat Detection: AI enables sophisticated threat detection by analyzing vast amounts of data, identifying patterns, and spotting anomalies in real-time. Seceon has leveraged this capability and doesn’t require you to tune your rules engine to operate and start to use your Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
- Rapid Incident Response: Algorithms analyze security events, prioritize warnings, and initiate necessary actions without human intervention (if desired). The threat detection engine ingests threat indicators from various sources and enriches the items that the machine learning algorithms unearth. It knows the source of the concern and is able to automatically remediate the concern by pushing a policy change to the end point, network firewalls, and network security controls in machine time halting the progression of an attacker.
- Deep Threat Hunting: Quickly dive into your active threat indicators that are automatically correlated and analyzed with the Seceon OTM. You are able to find vulnerabilities in your environment before a threat actor will. Reports can be automatically shared at any point and accessed through your own secure portal.
- Comprehensive picture: There is no place to hide when you feed the engine with network flows, system events, end point activities, and reputational data of all network nodes. The engine handles your cloud monitoring and on-premise monitoring without additional modules and integrations. Most organizations are able to deploy and see results in less than 5 days.
Productivity and security are antithetical.
We have noted that productivity and security are antithetical. Increasing security typically comes at the expense of productivity.Schedule a Automated Compliance (Seceon + Laserfiche) consultationFor smaller organizations the productivity impacts can dramatically reduce their ability to delight their customers. At the same time landing a larger client is impeded by the lack of security controls. The Department of Defense has the CMMC 2.0 certification that is required to receive a purchase order. Firms of all sizes have to gain the certification. More government mandates (from local and federal levels) will drive cybersecurity requirements as a cost of business no matter your industry and size of your organization.
There are many software tools out there to cover a particular component of the cybersecurity framework. We find an important baseline is improving your awareness of system security within your environment. If you leverage cloud delivered infrastructure you have some tools available. The tools still require you to properly implement the feature to receive the benefit. We have seen organizations leave their AWS S3 buckets with public access rights because they didn’t want to leverage the security framework to save and retrieve files from their storage infrastructure. The ability for another party to breach their data was very high until we assisted the client.
We find that many organizations in healthcare have hybrid operations with cloud and on-premises equipment. They didn’t have security information and event management systems (SIEM) in place. Many of the original SIEMs date to the early 2000’s and have pricing models for the banking industry (instead of healthcare).
The traditional tools are evolving to integrate cloud environments and typically require highly talented cybersecurity engineers to yield benefits. We are experienced with Artificial Intelligence enhanced SIEMs (aiSIEM) that dramatically reduce the number of highly talented engineers and dramatically increase the ability to detect and respond to an alert. We are seeing mean time to detect rates in the millisecond and responses in milliseconds.
If you have an aiSIEM you will have a better understanding of your environment and when a person or system is misbehaving. The aiSIEM needs to ingest network flow as well as system events from the environment. Ideally, the aiSIEM will also have an integrated enhanced detection and response client (XDR) so end points, information flows, and system events can be correlated and dissected for concerns.
These systems help with awareness but that is only a component of compliance mandates. We have paired an aiSIEM with an enterprise content management system (ECM) so your policies and procedures can be organized and automated. If you have a requirement to reconcile your payroll to your Active Directory listing, you can have the ECM generate a reminder and collect the proof that the policy requirement was fulfilled.
In healthcare we have many compliance mandates beyond cybersecurity. Having a single source to review your compliance status and to improve the interaction between you and the auditor will result in an improved security posture and reduced costs from external parties. A new entrant to the C-Suite is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
Schedule a Fractional CISO Services consultationMore regulations are requiring this role and that this role be an individual and not a component of another person, like the Chief Information Officer or Chief Risk Officer. There are compliance obligations linked to this role but firms of various sizes will find it hard to expand their payroll for another C Level person.
Let us help to bridge the gap between your regulatory requirements and benefit from our cross industry experience when it comes to improving your cybersecurity as well as reducing the impact from cybersecurity on your productivity. We have implemented programs to help with SOC and HiTRUST certifications. We are versed in how to tailor those frameworks for your organization and your needs.
Unfortunately, you cannot fully outsource your compliance requirements to a managed service provider (MSP) or managed security service provider (MSSP). You will need a person to represent your needs to make sure the MSP or MSSP have properly incorporated your policies and procedures. We have seen organizations taken down because of poorly configured security tools by their MSP.
Likewise, cloud providers offer some basic security capabilities but those need to be properly configured to protect you. Automated backups are not always deployed in the cloud because it will add to the monthly charges. Hence recovering the cloud environment hasn’t been vetted and becomes a large liability for your organization. We have seen organizations turn off some tools or override rules like password complexity. Properly tuning the cloud capabilities is essential for your wellbeing.
Leverage our experience and focus on delivery results for your organization to benefit from simplified compliance requirements and properly aligned services from your MSP or cloud provider.
